A PLACE LIKE NO OTHER!

A warm welcome in the Mainzer Golfclub

Near the fabulous city of Mainz, a vision came true. A 18-Hole Championship Golf Course, built in 2007, with spectacular scenery located in the middle of a former stone quarry. So different are the front 9 compared to the back 9 holes. Tied swath, narrow rocky ledges, high steep faces are guiding the game on the Canyon Course. On the Panorama Course your view will widen to the beautiful landscapes of Rheinhessen and the Rheingau, two wine regions geographically located left and right side of the Rhein river. In a unique kind of harmony, each fairway is perfectly integrated into the local landscape. Right here, a place has been created, which both stands for a sustainable, ecologically prestigious project as well as a true challenge for golfers at any playing level.

This extraordinary location offers to all golfers a contemporary model to live and experience their sport. Our Golf Academy services is very comprehensive for all golfers, which one would find normally in large Golf-Resorts. Starting with Newcomer trial course held each Sunday to the numerous opportunities, such as getting your Golf Licence (DGV Playing Permit) through to instruction courses for any level golfer. Mainzer Golfclub is a community of golf enthusiasts, who enjoy the great experience of Golf.

We are looking forward to your visit.

The Leading Golf Clubs of Germany

For the love of detail

The 34 members of the quality and value community of The Leading Golf Clubs of Germany offer golf culture at the highest level and high quality service. Challenging designs and perfect greens are no longer the unique feature of golf clubs that they were in our part of the world. Accordingly, the attention to detail is very important. The term “feel-good quality” in all areas of a golf course is becoming increasingly important. This term must be understood, lived and breathed by everyone involved.

As Member the Leading Golf Clubs of Germany  accept this challenge, for the benefit of its members and guests. As outstanding golf courses, they recognise the value that lies in being audited anonymously by independent examiners in order to ensure perfect all-round quality; and that seven times each season.

The central element of the Leading Golf Clubs of Germany is the quality control of the member clubs by means of the Mystery Test Process. This test process was developed by an international, totally independent market research institute and is reviewed and adapted year-by-year to the changes in the golf market – and that from 2001 onwards. Since this time, the quality and value community has been awarding this distinction to outstanding golf courses.

Our Greenkeeping Team

Our team of greenkeepers is responsible to maintain and to continuously improve the quality of our golf course.

"Joy at work will create great things", is the motto our team uses each morning at the break of dawn, under the leadership of our Head Greenkeeper Mr. Michael Kurth. While mowing or fertilizing the fairways or greens, or raking the bunkers, the greenkeeping team attempt their best not to disturb the golfers during their golf rounds.

The responsibilities of our Greenkeeper team goes beyond that of just cutting the grass. Included is the caring of the environmentally sensitive area (ESA), keeping up with the kilometre long cart path, maintaining and upkeep of the computer controlled inground water system for the fairways, greens and tee boxes. Not to forget, the regular maintenance of their machines and tools.

During the winter months our greenkeepers don't go dormant.

They care about the wooded areas, necessary coarse renovations and also if required creating and rebuilding fairways to further improve our golf course. While concentrating on huge task at hand, caring for the course.

The Mainzer Golfclub Greenkeeping Team, tries to avoid disrupting the gofer during their game. We appreciate your understanding, if this is not possible from time to time.
